Being a Girl Scout allows a girl to strive for her highest award, the Gold Award. This award is rather prestigious and is the equivalent--if not higher--than the Boy Scout's Eagle Scout Award. For a Gold Award, the Girl Scout must prove an issue within her community and target the root cause. Furthermore, she must put in at least 80 hours into her project. A Gold Award requires a lot of hard work and dedication.
BAT-Vocate is my Gold Award project. My name is Krysta Fowler, and I began this project in the summer of 2023. BAT-Vocate is a suitable title for my Gold Award project since I am putting forth my all to bring awareness and appreciation of bats to the communities I am a part of--an advocate for bats, if you will.
Please read some of my blog posts to learn about my Gold Award journey.
